TriTryst bugfix patch now available!

Virgin Interactive Entertainment published TriTryst in November 1995.  TriTryst is an easy to play but addictive puzzle game.  Reviews of the game (which you can still find on the Internet) were overwhelmingly positive, but the game did not sell well in stores.  Virgin Interactive has long since been acquired out of business, and the games that it once published are gone from store shelves.  It's doubtful that you could find a copy of TriTryst in a bargain bin.  Unless you know somebody who has the game, the only way you're going to get it is by download from an abandonware site.

I'm interested in TriTryst because I wrote it.  It was the first game I wrote for publication, and I was quite happy with the way it turned out.  I can't, however, take credit for the concept or the initial design.  Mike Sandige came up with the idea for the game and wrote the first almost-playable version.  He and his partners in Cinematronics hired me to create a finished game from that first version of the program.  I finished the game in October 1995, and Virgin released it a month later.

Since I started my Web site in 1997, I've received a handful of inquiries every month about the game.  Inquiries increased with the introduction of Windows 2000, and continue to increase as more people shed their old Windows 95 machines and buy new computers that have Windows XP.  TriTryst refuses to install on Windows 2000 and Windows XP.  Fortunately, there's a way to manually install the program so that you can play it on such systems.

The pages in this section of my Web site is for all things TriTryst.  The Installation page is dedicated to obtaining the game and installing it on all types of Windows systems.  The Hints page reveals some cheat codes that you can use in TriTryst, and some Registry entries that you might be interested in tweaking.  I don't currently have hints on the individual levels—how to solve Level 102, for example—but if readers submit them, I will post what I feel is appropriate.
